Experience
Commercial responsibility, technical ownership and delivery under pressure
My route through technology has not been a procession of increasingly decorative job titles. It has been a continuous expansion of responsibility: from selling technology, to building the interface, to owning the platform, the commercial decision and the delivery around it.
Co-Founder and CTO, Symbiometry
Based in Windermere, England. Working in event technology since 2013.

The scale is useful because it explains the pattern recognition
Repeated delivery across hundreds of live digital experiences changes how you see the work. You stop treating each page, platform complaint or late request as an isolated surprise.

Career chronology
A continuous line from commercial work to technology leadership
I joined Register Event as a web designer and developer in 2013 and worked my way to co-owner and CTO, then co-founded Symbiometry in 2021. The company and country changed. The responsibility evolved rather than suddenly appearing with a new name.
2010
New business development
Grove Information Systems
Sold Google Apps and ClearFormat to supplied business leads, working to sales targets and speaking directly with IT managers. It was a short role, but a useful introduction to the commercial reality around technology decisions.
2013
Web designer and developer, Register Event
Technology, delivery and commercial growth
Joined Register Event as a web designer and developer. Rebuilt the technology and delivery approach, introduced repeatable website systems and helped scale the business while remaining hands-on across sales, demonstrations, solution design and delivery as CTO.
2015
A repeatable delivery system
100+ websites and 3,000+ users
By 2015 the portfolio had passed 100 websites. A reusable template and cloning system reduced a typical turnaround from more than two weeks to about 48 hours while supporting more than 3,000 users at that stage.
2021
Symbiometry
Co-Founder and CTO
Co-founded Symbiometry and remains its CTO, connecting EventsAir expertise with systems thinking, workflow automation and practical AI.
Now
Selected leadership and advisory work
Alongside Symbiometry
Leads Symbiometry and considers selected fractional, advisory, interim and technology-leadership opportunities where the work and level of responsibility are a good fit.
Technology decisions do not sit outside the sale
I have carried commercial responsibility from the first conversation through delivery and post-sale ownership. That matters because a technically elegant answer is still the wrong answer if the scope, price, authority or operating consequence has been misunderstood.
- Qualifying opportunities and running discovery conversations
- Selling and demonstrating products, platforms and proposed solutions
- Translating operational needs into technical solutions
- Preparing proposals, quotes and pricing
- Negotiating scope, responsibility and commercial terms
- Growing accounts through useful follow-on work
- Leading delivery and remaining involved after the sale
The platform is only one part of the system
My work spans the visible interface and the less visible machinery beneath it: ownership, data, workflow, integration, suppliers, decisions and the human effort required when those pieces do not agree.
Selected outcomes
Proof from different parts of the responsibility
Some outcomes are about scale. Some are about complexity. Some are about staying accountable after the proposal has been accepted.
More than 500 digital experiences
A long-running portfolio across Register Event, Symbiometry and independent freelance work, covering websites, registration journeys, apps, email and connected digital touchpoints.
International congress platform leadership
World Muscle Society delivery included more than 1,500 delegates, more than 800 abstracts, multiple programme streams, more than 600 registration types and onsite leadership across the United States and Europe.
Commercial responsibility as well as delivery
The work has included the full path from qualification and discovery through solution design, pricing, negotiation, delivery, account growth and post-sale responsibility.
Independent work alongside company roles
Throughout the same period, I have continued to build freelance websites and digital projects and provide independent technical advice, including for high-profile private clients in South Africa.
Selected work alongside an active CTO role
I lead Symbiometry as its Co-Founder and CTO. Alongside that role, I consider selected advisory, fractional, interim and technology-leadership opportunities where the problem, authority and expected outcome are a sensible fit.
