Front-End / Event Web
500+ Websites and Digital Experiences
More than 500 websites and digital experiences delivered through Register Event, Symbiometry and independent freelance work, with approximately 98 per cent of the company portfolio personally designed and built.
Updated 2 August 2026
Public summary with sensitive detail kept out.
Event websites arrive with fixed dates, changing programmes, several audiences and no tolerance for the registration journey failing when attention peaks. Treating each build as a fresh emergency creates slow delivery, uneven quality and a growing pile of one-off fixes.
A repeatable operating model for producing branded event experiences quickly without losing sight of the attendee journey, the platform underneath it or the team responsible for running it.

Reduced from more than two weeks through reusable systems.
I joined Register Event as a website designer and developer in South Africa in 2013, progressing through creative and technical leadership to CTO. The work later continued through Symbiometry from 2021, alongside freelance websites, independent digital projects and technical advisory work throughout the same period. Event websites were never an isolated product. They were one visible part of registration, communications, data and live delivery.
The broader portfolio now covers more than 500 websites and digital experiences across company and independent work. Approximately 98 per cent of the Register Event and Symbiometry portfolio was personally designed and built.
Every event has its own brand, programme, audiences and awkward exceptions, but the same operational pressures return. Deadlines do not move. Content changes late. Registration logic affects the interface. A website that looks finished but is disconnected from the wider system simply moves the problem downstream.
I developed reusable templates, cloning methods and front-end patterns that gave each build a reliable base while leaving room for the event's specific identity and journeys. By 2015, this approach had reduced a typical turnaround from more than two weeks to about 48 hours.
The work was both technical and commercial. I sold and demonstrated what we built, qualified opportunities, ran discovery, translated requirements, prepared quotes and pricing, negotiated scope, designed and built the experience, supported launch and stayed involved after the sale.
Repeatable structure carried the routine decisions so attention could go to the unusual ones. The aim was not to make every event look the same. It was to stop every event paying again for the same avoidable uncertainty.
Delivery combined HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Bootstrap, EventsAir, registration logic, responsive interface design, email, reusable templates and practical quality control across changing platform constraints.
This is evidence of repeated delivery, not one unusually photogenic project. It shows the ability to build a system, work commercially, protect front-end quality and keep delivering when the date is fixed and the details are not.
- Designed and built event websites, registration journeys, sponsor and speaker pages, apps, email templates and attendee-facing experiences.
- Created a reusable template and cloning system that turned repeatable structure into faster, more consistent delivery.
- Connected front-end detail to registration logic, communications, data and the reality of live operations.
- Carried responsibility from sales, demonstrations and discovery through quotation, build, launch, support and follow-on work.
- More than 500 websites and digital experiences delivered through Register Event, Symbiometry and independent freelance work.
- Approximately 98 per cent of the Register Event and Symbiometry portfolio personally designed and built.
- More than 100 websites already delivered by 2015, supporting more than 3,000 users at that stage.
- A historic template and cloning system reduced typical turnaround from more than two weeks to about 48 hours.
Connect the attendee experience to the operating system behind it.
I advise on event technology, EventsAir, integrations, interfaces and delivery where fixed deadlines expose weak joins quickly.
